Death Curious Conversations

Event Details

  • 2 December 2026

  • 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM

  • Free

  • Rookwood General Cemetery & Crematorium

  • A free community gathering to explore ageing, illness, grief, death and dying in a safe intimate space.

Death is one of life's great certainties and yet it's a topic most of us tiptoe around. What if we brought it gently out into the open? What if we got curious instead of afraid?

"Talking about end of life helps us to live fully and to live without the fear of dying."

Join us at Little Big House, Summer Hill for an open, warm and honest conversation about ageing, illness, grief, death and dying. Share stories, ask the questions you've never quite known how to ask and leave with a little more confidence and perhaps a new way of seeing life itself.

No one is expected to have the answers just a willingness to show up.

There'll be a room full of people who showed up just like you did: curious, perhaps a little nervous and ready to talk.

    WHO IS THIS FOR?

    • People supporting someone one through illness or at the end of life
    • Those who want to prepare for themselves or their family
    • Anyone curious about end of life and wanting to think about it more openly
    • People who want to grow their death literacy and feel more confident in these conversations

These sessions are for community members, not for professionals already working in end of life care.

A confidential space. Numbers are kept intentionally small so that everyone can feel safe, heard, and unhurried. What is shared in the room stays in the room.

A note on parking: There is plenty of parking on East St (cnr of Victoria St East). Alternatively, park on Cohen Ave where the small buildings are located near the East St entrance)
