The Masters of Stone Exhibition 2027 is a unique opportunity for professional and apprentice stonemasons to showcase their craftsmanship, creativity and passion for the trade. The 2027 theme is the Arch, challenging entrants to draw inspiration from one of the most enduring elements of stone architecture. Whether you're an experienced stonemason or the next generation of talent, this exhibition celebrates the skill, artistry and heritage of stone carving.

About Masters of Stone Exhibition

The Masters of Stone Exhibition 2027 celebrates the craftsmanship, creativity and tradition of stone masonry.

Entrants will be challenged to create an original stone masonry piece that incorporates an architectural arch or a component of an arch, such as a Keystone, Voussoir or Springer. This theme encourages stonemasons to showcase both their technical skill and artistic interpretation of one of the most iconic forms in stone construction.

Over several months entrants will create their work, with all completed pieces displayed at Woronora Heritage Day 2027. Entries will be judged across the Professional and Apprentice categories, and visitors will also have the opportunity to vote for their favourite piece in the People's Choice Award.

Entries are open to both professional and apprentice stonemasons within NSW. Review the key dates below to ensure your application and exhibition piece are submitted on time.

Key dates:

Applications open on 13 September 2026
Applications close on 12 October 2026
Successful applicants notified on 2 November 2026
Sculptures due on 1 March 2027
Exhibition and judging on 17 April 2027 at Woronora Memorial Park & Crematorium

Awards

Outstanding craftsmanship deserves recognition. Winners will receive prizes that celebrate excellence in stone carving, while helping to showcase and support the future of the trade. The awards are:

Professional Category Winner
