Military Nurses Memorial

This new memorial statue, located at the War Memorial site in Woronora Memorial Park, recognises all Australian nurses who have served our nation with courage, compassion and dedication.  

 Important information:

• Event is being held on Tuesday 12^th May from 10am to 11am.
• The event is being held at the War Memorial, just to the left of the entry gates off Linden Rd, Sutherland.
• The memorial honours Australian War Nurses in all of Australia’s conflicts.
• The unveiling will be followed by an acknowledgement of the many nurses lost when the hospital ship Centaur was sunk in 1943.
• Meet local author Colin Burgess as he launches a new nurse history book – “Sisters Under Fire”.
• Everyone is welcome, especially those with an interest in nursing and military history.

• This project is a community led collaboration between Metropolitan Memorial Parks and Shire Military History Club.
• Parking is available in the memorial park or along Linden St.
