Shire Death Cafe: Let’s talk about life and death

Event Details

  • 19 August 2025

  • 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

  • Free

  • Woronora Memorial Park and Crematorium

  • Join us at Woronora Memorial Park and Crematorium for a death café facilitated by Lillian Lyon and Nicque Misa-Richards.

Experienced facilitators Lillian and Nicque will lead a thought-provoking conversation about death, offering a safe and welcoming space for curiosity, connection, and personal growth.

Over light refreshments, you’re invited to explore any aspect of death that’s on your mind – whether it’s a question, a reflection, or simply a curiosity. This is not a grief support session, but rather a relaxed and open environment where community members can come together to break down taboos around end-of-life matters.

    A Death Cafe aims to:

    • Create space for open dialogue about death: Conversations help to break down the taboos and fears often associated with death and dying.
    • Promote death literacy: Talking openly about death allows participants to gain a deeper understanding of end-of-life matters and grief.
    • Encourage personal reflection: These conversations often lead to insights about life, helping people re-evaluate their priorities, relationships, and the ways they live each day.

This event is for 18+ participants.

This is not a grief support session, but a safe space for curiosity and connection.

This event is facilitated by Shire Death Cafe and hosted by Metropolitan Memorial Parks.
